HIKING
Palm Desert Cross: a three mile round trip hike, with a stop at the top of the mountain to see St. Margaret’s Cross which sits atop a peak along the mountains overlooking Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage. A local favorite that never disappoints.
Indian Canyons Hikes: Palm Springs' most popular hiking area — Andreas, Murray and Palm canyons, collectively, the Indian Canyons features trails to palm groves, streams and waterfalls on land once inhabited by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Our favorite is the “Seven Sisters” hike. Take the Murray Canyon trail, which ranges from two to six miles. This hike eventually reaches the splendor of the Seven Sisters Waterfall.
Painted Canyon Trail Ladder Hike: Located approximately a 1-hour drive from downtown Palm Springs, The Painted Canyon Trail Ladder hike is a 6-mile round trip trail featuring slot canyons and numerous ladders. Bring extra water as the trail is kind of remote!
Living Desert Hike: the easiest hike on our list and conveniently located behind the Tully’s house. Enter through the Living Desert (see below), hike one of three loops (depending on how long you want to hike!) of varying difficulty. All feature stunning views of Eisenhower Mountain.

The Desert Hills Premium Outlets: The largest luxury outlet in California features 180 designer stores. The outlets are conveniently located right off the intersection of I-10 approximately 25 minutes west of Palm Springs, and right on the way to or from Los Angeles.
Uptown Design District: looking for some mid-Century modern furniture? If so, this is the place. Browse one-of-a-kind boutiques brimming with hard-to-find vintage Midcentury Modern decor and updated 21st Century Modern reinterpretation. Located along a two-mile stretch of North Palm Canyon Drive (between Tachevah Drive and Alejo Road just north of Downtown).
Elizabeth and Prince: favorite boutique on El Paseo with a curated collection of accessories and clothing.
The Shops at El Paseo: the best luxury shopping in the desert featuring high end shopping from Gucci to Ralph Lauren
TO SEE
Palm Springs Art Museum: the museum's permanent art collection features 19th, 20th, and 21st century works focusing on contemporary California art, classic western and Native American art; Mesoamerican art, Mexican art, and European modern art; glass studio art, American mid-twentieth century architecture, and American photography.
Living Desert: a desert botanical garden and a zoo located in Palm Desert. Go see the various desert animals, plants or for a hike!
Take the Palm Springs Aerial Tram: Ride the world's largest rotating aerial tramway, whisking you from the desert floor to near the top of piney San Jacinto Peak in 10 minutes.
Visit the Sunnylands Estate (reservations are required for certain activities and are only released on the 15th of every month): the a 200-acre estate, also known as the "Camp David of the West,” features nine acres of stunning gardens. There are also tours of the historic house that was formerly home to Ambassadors Walter and Leonore Annenberg, and where the Annenberg’s entertained presidents, royalty, celebrities, and international leaders, was left by them for high-level retreats devoted to international understanding and the public good.
Head to Joshua Tree: about 45 minutes away from Palm Springs, Joshua Tree National Park is a wonderland of desert rocks and dense stands of its namesake yucca trees, making for a superb day trip!
