PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA
Palm Desert Cross: a three mile round trip hike, with a stop at the top of the mountain to see St. Margaret’s Cross which sits atop a peak along the mountains overlooking Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage. A local favorite that never disappoints.
Indian Canyons Hikes: Palm Springs' most popular hiking area — Andreas, Murray and Palm canyons, collectively, the Indian Canyons features trails to palm groves, streams and waterfalls on land once inhabited by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Our favorite is the “Seven Sisters” hike. Take the Murray Canyon trail, which ranges from two to six miles. This hike eventually reaches the splendor of the Seven Sisters Waterfall.
Painted Canyon Trail Ladder Hike: Located approximately a 1-hour drive from downtown Palm Springs, The Painted Canyon Trail Ladder hike is a 6-mile round trip trail featuring slot canyons and numerous ladders. Bring extra water as the trail is kind of remote!
Living Desert Hike: the easiest hike on our list and conveniently located behind the Tully’s house. Enter through the Living Desert (see below), hike one of three loops (depending on how long you want to hike!) of varying difficulty. All feature stunning views of Eisenhower Mountain.
